Kelly qualified as an RVN in 2015, and went on to complete the ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing, the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour, and is currently studying towards a Masters in Anthrozoology. Kelly is now the Clinical Lead for the Royal Canin Feline Healthy Ageing Clinic at the University of Liverpool, which is a project aiming to extend the quality of life in ageing cats through research and education. In addition to the day to day running of clinic, Kelly provides education to vets, nurses and the general public on the topics of feline behavior, feline welfare, and supporting the ageing cat.

Hany Elsheikha is a professor and personal chair in interdisciplinary parasitology at University of Nottingham. He also serves as the head of ESCCAP UK & Ireland. Hany earned his PhD in molecular and evolutionary parasitology from Michigan State University. Subsequently, he was awarded the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, Centres for Disease Control and Prevention Postdoctoral Fellowship. Hany’s research ranges from the fundamental to applications in parasite biology and control. He has served on the editorial board of numerous peer-reviewed journals and has lectured at universities and conferences throughout the world.

Laura Hughes qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2002 she worked across first opinion, referral and rescue centre roles before joining Purina. She has gone on to gain her nutrition certificate Her current focus is on supporting veterinary nurses in practice, providing technical training for Purina’s Veterinary Nutrition Partners and spreading knowledge of Purina’s nutrition research, CPD and resources.

Joy qualified in 2018 and is based in North Wales. She is the Head Nurse, Nurse Clinic Lead and Cat Advocate at AllPets Vets. Joy has completed a diploma in veterinary nurse consulting in 2022 but her other interests include feline health and behaviour, nutrition, perioperative nursing and schedule 3 surgical procedures.
Outside of practice, Joy is a volunteer BVNA Advocate, organising their CPD events, a veterinary nursing course marker for Colourful CPD and writes for some veterinary publications. Joy also runs a dog walking group “North Wales Schnauzers” with her dog Frank and has a rescue cat and three royal pythons.
